Syllabus

Acting for Stage

This focuses on a number of key areas that ultimately improve confidence in performing in front of a live audience.

This module begins with stage directions and covers a variety of stage techniques including improvisation to spark the imagination and ensemble to improve individual awareness when working within a cast.  Following on from this the class tackles characterisation and emotion recall techniques to improve performance.  Script work is undertaken with monologues, dualogues and group work to improve character analysis.  Not forgetting the voice, breathing techniques and projection are essential tools for any actor. 

At the end of the module all age classes undertake an audition process with a self chosen piece to showcase their talents.

Acting for Television & Film

This module provides all you could possibly need to work professionally on any television or film set.  Technically based this class firstly concentrates on the techniques with working with a professional camera crew including: close ups, two shots, hitting marks, timing and overlapping.  Professional television scripts are then introduced to test the technical discipline and these are performed in front of camera to enable the group to see their work and critique their own performances.

This module has enjoyed industry professionals from Mersey Television undertaking workshops to demonstrate industry standards when working professionally.

Musical Theatre

Incorporating all three disciplines of acting, singing and dance into one module.  Although this is lots of fun – tight choreography and energetic make discipline essential to ensure consistency of performance. 

Physical Theatre

Using your body and physicality to tell a story is the focus of this class.  Teamwork is the key to as the classes involve jumps, lifts and trust work.
