Exciting News for TrEAD!!

We have recently held a number of successful meetings with the committee of the Rugeley Rose Theatre and the outcome of these meetings is that TrEAD will be producing their first professional pantomime this year. This means that all of our local TrEAD students will be invited to perform in the TrEAD Pantomime 'Cinderella' in December. The show itself will star Helen as the title role and Graham as Buttons alongside several other West End and UK Tour performers. It promises to be a fabulous show and we are very excited to give our students the opportunity to perform alongside us. The TrEAD students will rehearse for the show during the Autumn term (Sept - Dec) with the show running from Tuesday 13th December to Saturday 17th December inclusive.

Because of the nature of these rehearsals and the fact that we will require a number of 'teams' for each performance during the panto run, we have had to make the decision to amalgamate both the TrEAD Cannock and TrEAD Stafford schools as of September. This will also help us to maximise the rehearsal time for the production. Therefore classes will run at Littleton Green Community School on Tuesday nights at the following times:

Year 2 to Year 6 (Junior School age) at 4.15pm to 6.15pm

Year 7 upwards (Secondary School age) from 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Classes will take place every Tuesday starting on Tuesday 13th September for 13 weeks which will take us up to the first public performance in December. (This will exclude the half term break in October)

We will be applying for performance licenses for all the students appearing in the show and we will provide a detailed schedule to you regarding which performances your child will be appearing in nearer the time.

We apologise if this date, time and venue change causes any inconvenience to our current students, however we hope that the news of this exciting project and our reasons for these changes are sufficient and we promise this will be a fantastic opportunity for all involved.

TrEAD professional performance of West End Story

The TrEAD Cannock and TrEAD Liverpool students joined their professional tutors, Graham, Helen and James on stage in the professional production of West End Story-The Greatest Songs from the West End www.west-end-story.co.uk.

The two shows were sell-outs in their respective areas and managed to raise £200 and £720 for The Imagine Appeal and The Acorns Children’s Hospice respectively. This is in addition to the £1000 raised in the summer from the TrEAD Cannock student’s performance of West End Story & the £578 raised for CHAS from the same show put on by the TrEAD summer school children from Crieff, Scotland. Well done all of you!!
